When I came into work this morning the first thing out of my coworkers mouth was "You look like a cute little librarian!" I'm still not sure how I feel about that. I know she sincerely meant it as a compliment, and I took it as such, but I can't help but worry that sometimes my outfits are a bit too... precious?

Either way, this outfit was a result of me feeling like I was wearing too many dark colors. I cant upload the photos right now, but earlier in the week, I had worn an outfit entirely of black, with a dark maroon sweater.

I quite liked this outfit in the end. I think the skirt really made it fun. Maybe next time I could try my aqua and silver earrings to make it a bit more complex? I should have taken a photo of the jacket as well, it's my new favorite despite being a bit snug. I got it off Ebay for cheap!

Also, yes, I'm doing the super lame "Take pictures with my iPhone" thing. But in my defense, my camera memory is full, and my computer is almost full. And it's sooooo easy!

Note the eyebrows as well, I'm trying to use more brow powder. My eyebrows are naturally very light, and I may or may not have hacked at them the other day. I'm under strict orders to not pluck anymore until they grow back...

  1. Love this! My only suggestion would be to maybe add a little more white? Like have a little more of your top showing? I generally agree with Belle when she says that she finds black and red a little too harsh. The pearls are a good addition, but I don't know if I would have worn boots with this look. I think your black wedges would have been really cute.

I am now a believer in brow powder and fierce as shiznit brows! (By that I mean bold) They really do help to frame your face, whatever that's supposed to mean.

    1. Thanks! Yeah, I actually have a white cardigan, so maybe I'll try that. Or a white button up. But that would require me finding an iron...

It's actually kind of like a salmony/bright pink. I agree for the most part about black and red though. I wore black and red for one of my simulations in class, but I was in character as a Republican Senator.

That's a good suggestion on shoes. Esp since they're flat, slouchy boots. They do nothing for my leg line. But they sure are comfortable!

So true! And they look better with my more defined eyes. I tried to darken them a bit more this morning as well.

Actually, I'm wearing this same basic outfit today. Except its my pants that are pinkish, and I'm wearing a black pull over sweater, and flats. Weird... Clearly I'm good with color!
